Is Excel holding you back?

Is your Data locked in Excel sheets?

Sure, you’re an Excel wizard – you get creative with your formulas and make sure to encrypt your files which are stored on the company intranet for your team to access and use. You even wrote up a step-by-step instructions page!

And yet, the data still comes back a little different then imagined and somehow, you are making even more phone calls to find the most up-to-date information. It’s not your fault – gathering information in one place and keeping it there is HARD! Trust us, it’s been our full-time job for SEVEN YEARS!

Imagine if your master equipment list was easy to update and accessible, from the field and the head office. In a simple search could make you the hero of your next meeting, confidently stating that there are currently 438 meters in the field, 30 of them need to be calibrated this month and 6 are out of service. It’s amazing what you can be certain of when the data is at your finger tips (and entered correctly).

Are you trying to draw your schematics in Excel?

Maintaining and drawing your Schematics in Excel can create a sense of anxiety and dread every time someone mentions updating the schematics. Perhaps, it even feels like it takes more time to change the drawing then to physically install the new meter or change the flow direction in the field. Let’s face it Excel was not built as a drawing tool. And drawing is only half the battle – you still have to fill out the accompanying historical changes page to reflect the changes that were made.

Working with the Schematic module lets you make the required edits to the schematics quickly and easily. Automatically tracking the changes that were made and maintaining a version history keeps schematics compliant with no extra time spent. Allowing you to make the changes right when they happen, helping to keep your company’s data current and building a single source of truth to support your company’s operations. Reduce the little mistakes that stop your company from reaching its potential.

What is Excel really costing you?

Since you already own Excel it can feel like you are maintaining your schematics and master database for free. However, appearances can be deceiving and in reality, once you’ve included employee time Excel can be costing you thousands of dollars a year, and you’re not even getting the right answers! You deserve a better way!

Accounting Diagrams

What are Accounting Diagrams?

Accounting diagrams are the foundation for your organization’s success. Allowing the field to communicate critical details to the head office.

Follow product flow and read critical equipment details at a glance.

Follow product flow and read critical equipment details at a glance.

Accounting diagrams or measurement schematics show how product flows through your properties. They give you an understanding of what you own and where it is. They form the basis of good, accurate measurement – making sure your company doesn’t leave any cash on the table.

An Accounting Diagram should answer the following:

  • What product is delivered where for processing and allocation?

  • Where do liquids drop out along the way? Do we recombine anywhere?

  • Where are the measurement points and what type of equipment is used?

  • Does Flare, Fuel, or Vent take place at the well or at the facility and is it before or after measurement?

In other words – accounting diagrams help keep your whole company organized. So, everyone from the field operator changing the orifice plate on the meter, to the service provider performing the meter prove, to the production accountant working through the allocation, to the engineer designing new sites, can focus on ensuring the company produces the most product, at the lowest cost.

Accounting diagrams form the cornerstone of data management. When combined with good Standard Operating Procedures and processes your company can:

  • Streamline audits – know what you own and where it is

  • Reduce accounting errors – let the accountants know when a new well has been tied in or if there has been a change in flow direction

  • Safe guard your reputation – keep disputes to a minimum by understanding upstream and downstream relationships

Master Data: The quest for the source of truth

As data become ubiquitous throughout the business world the same information is required in multiple departments on multiple systems. Everyone has found creative ways to use the data to make better decisions that impact the bottom line. Each department wants to see the same data in their system, so how do you know which replication is correct? Who do you look to define the source of truth? wants to be your one source of truth. The place where your data is collected, verified and dispersed to the many systems that transform and analyze your data. The system should be your first line of defense in the battle for clean, accurate data. An integrated collection providing confidence that you’re working off the right information.

So before you load the equipment data into your production accounting system you can be confident that it is correct. When you go to pay your property taxes, you can be certain you’re paying for only what you have and follow material transfers so your accounting records are kept meticulously.

Find the document you’re looking for in minutes instead of weeks of phone calls, and email exchanges. Not to mention, as your one source of truth there’s no need to lose sleep wondering if it is the most current version.

With you can spend your time getting the job done, not tracking down documents or cleaning up data. We know how important your data is, let be your starting point.
